Ghana — Transport & Getting Around

Accra runs on tro-tros (shared minibuses, very cheap, no schedules) and ride-hail: Uber, Bolt and Yango all operate in Accra and Kumasi with most cross-town rides costing only a few dollars — though drivers routinely call to ask your destination and push for cash. Traffic in Accra is severe at peak; allow double the map estimate. Intercity, the VIP and STC coach lines are the comfortable options.

Kotoka International (ACC) has no rail link — use ride-hail or a hotel transfer from Terminal 3. Domestically, Africa World Airlines and PassionAir fly Accra-Kumasi and Accra-Tamale in under an hour, which beats five-plus hours by road.
