Croatia — Transport & Getting Around

Zagreb runs ZET trams and buses (single tickets around EUR 1); Split and Dubrovnik are compact and walkable, with local buses for the suburbs. Both Uber and Bolt operate legally nationwide and are far cheaper than Dubrovnik's official taxis, which are among the priciest in Europe. Shuttle buses from Zagreb (ZAG), Split (SPU) and Dubrovnik (DBV) airports into their centres cost roughly EUR 6-10 and meet most flights.

Croatia Airlines flies Zagreb-Split and Zagreb-Dubrovnik in under an hour — worth it, because coastal roads crawl in July and August. Jadrolinija and Krilo ferries connect Split with Hvar, Brač and Korčula; book summer catamarans ahead, as the fast foot-passenger boats sell out.
