UK, EU, Australian, NZ, Japanese, Korean and Singaporean passports use ESTA under the Visa Waiver Program: 90 days, USD 21, apply online at esta.cbp.dhs.gov at least 72 hours before travel. Canadians enter without ESTA for up to 6 months. Prior travel to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, North Korea or Cuba since 2011 voids ESTA — a B1/B2 visa interview is required.

Main gateways: JFK and Newark (EWR) for New York, LAX for Los Angeles, MIA for Miami, ORD for Chicago, ATL for Atlanta, SFO for San Francisco, DFW for Dallas, SEA for Seattle, LAS for Las Vegas. Global Entry (USD 100/5 years) speeds re-entry for eligible nationalities.
