United States — Transport & Getting Around

Domestic flights carry most long-distance travel; Delta, United, American, Southwest, JetBlue and Alaska serve every major hub. Amtrak works for Northeast Corridor (NYC–DC ~USD 50–200) but is slow elsewhere. Uber and Lyft dominate rideshare in every city; yellow cabs still work in NYC and Chicago. Metro networks operate in NYC (USD 2.90), DC, Chicago, Boston, SF (BART), LA and Atlanta.

Airport transfers: NYC AirTrain (JFK/Newark) plus subway/NJ Transit; DC Metro Silver Line to Dulles; Chicago Blue Line to O'Hare (USD 5). Most other cities rely on rideshare — a 20–40 minute airport Uber typically runs USD 30–70 depending on surge. Car rental is near-mandatory in Texas, Florida, and most non-coastal metros.
