Turkey — Transport & Getting Around

Istanbul runs on the Istanbulkart (single ride ~TRY 27) covering metro, tram, funicular, Marmaray commuter rail, and public ferries across the Bosphorus. BiTaksi and Uber (which dispatches licensed yellow taxis) are the reliable options; hail-flagged taxis often refuse the meter with tourists. Havaist buses link Istanbul Airport (IST) to the city, and Havabus serves Sabiha Gökçen (SAW).

Domestic flights on Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, and AJet connect Istanbul with Antalya, İzmir, Ankara, and Bodrum in about an hour. Intercity coaches (Kamil Koç, Metro Turizm) are widely used. Ankara has the Ankaray/metro; İzmir uses IZBAN suburban rail.
