Turkey — Neighborhoods
Istanbul — Taksim Square and Beyoğlu (İstiklal Caddesi, Nevizade, Asmalımescit) hold the concentrated nightlife and hotel corridor; Karaköy and Cihangir are quieter and more mixed. The Aksaray/Laleli axis around Gençtürk Caddesi is the long-standing post-Soviet migrant quarter with a visible informal scene. Historic state-licensed brothels ("genelev") operate in walled compounds in Karaköy and Zürafa Sokak, though intake has been frozen for years.
Ankara — Bentderesi hosted the licensed genelev; the surrounding streets remain the informal district. Antalya — Lara and Konyaaltı hold resort nightlife; the old town Kaleiçi is the tourist bar core. İzmir — Alsancak (Kıbrıs Şehitleri) is the main nightlife strip.
