Portugal — Transport & Getting Around

Lisbon Metro is cheap and efficient (single EUR 1.80 on a rechargeable Navegante/Viva Viagem card, 24-hour pass EUR 6.80); Porto Metro uses zone-based Andante tickets (EUR 1.40–2.00). Bolt, Uber and Free Now all operate in both cities and are typically cheaper than street taxis (black-and-green or cream) — a cross-town ride runs EUR 5–10. Lisbon's trams (28E, 15E) are useful but heavily pickpocketed.

Humberto Delgado (LIS) sits inside Lisbon and connects to the city via Metro Red Line (EUR 1.80, ~20 min); Francisco Sá Carneiro (OPO) links to central Porto via Metro Line E (EUR 2.60). Faro (FAO) serves the Algarve. Domestic flights (TAP, Ryanair) between Lisbon-Porto-Faro are frequent but the Alfa Pendular train (CP) covers Lisbon-Porto in ~2h50 from EUR 25.
