Padre Faura "Lady Drinks" trap
Pretty woman approaches you on Padre Faura or Mabini Street, suggests a "quiet bar"; lady drinks turn out to be USD 30+ each, and a USD 500+ bill arrives.
Mitigation: If a bar door has bouncers and a curtain, walk away. P. Burgos area in Makati is significantly safer.
Anti-trafficking sting in Angeles City
Plain-clothes officers raid bars and accuse foreigners of trafficking; "settlement" payments of USD 1,000–5,000 quietly resolve cases.
Mitigation: Never go to a private apartment or hotel with a girl whose ID you haven't seen; insist on bar venues with witnesses.
Fake "Tourism Police" stops
People in fake police uniforms or showing fake IDs demand to "inspect" your wallet for counterfeit notes. Real Philippine National Police never ask to inspect your money on the street.
Mitigation: Demand to be taken to the nearest police station; refuse to hand over a wallet on the street.
Different person arrives — Filipina Cupid scam pattern
Filipina Cupid and similar dating apps have organised groups using one girl's photos to attract clients then sending another. Some operations run for months.
Mitigation: Video-verify before any meeting; trust your reverse-image search.
