Panama — Transport & Getting Around
Panama City's two metro lines are the fastest way across town — fares are under USD 0.50, paid with a rechargeable card that also works on the Metrobus network. Street taxis are unmetered; agree the fare before getting in, or skip them for Uber, InDrive, or Cabify, which are cheap and widely used. Tocumen (PTY) is about 25 km east of the banking district: 30–45 minutes by road, roughly USD 30 by airport taxi and less by app.
Domestic flights leave from Albrook (PAC) near the city centre — Air Panama serves Bocas del Toro, David, and the islands. Long-distance buses from the adjacent Albrook terminal cover the rest of the country cheaply.
