Myanmar — Legal Help
Legal recourse for foreigners is limited and unreliable under the current military administration, and access to a lawyer or to consular notification can be slow or denied. If detained, ask to contact your embassy immediately and say as little as possible until you have. Retain your embassy's emergency contact details in advance, and understand that anyone caught in an illegal transaction has no protection and little leverage. For trafficking or exploitation, approach a recognised international anti-trafficking organisation or your own government rather than the local authorities.
