Ireland — Transport & Getting Around

Dublin has the Luas tram (EUR 2.10–3.20), DART suburban rail and Dublin Bus, all payable with a Leap Card or contactless bank card since the 2023 TFI rollout. Free Now is the dominant taxi app (metered, no surge); Uber operates only as a licensed-taxi dispatcher. The Airport Express 747 bus links Dublin Airport to the city centre in about 30 minutes for EUR 8; a metered taxi is EUR 25–35.

Intercity travel is by Irish Rail (Dublin–Cork about EUR 25–40 advance) or Bus Éireann and private operators like Aircoach and GoBus. Domestic flights are limited to Aer Lingus Regional Dublin–Kerry/Donegal; most journeys are faster by road.
