Ireland — Visa & Airports

Ireland is in the Common Travel Area with the UK but not in Schengen. US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and most Latin American nationals get 90 days visa-free on arrival; UK citizens have unlimited right to enter, live and work under the CTA. EU/EEA citizens use national ID cards or passports. A separate Irish visa is required for many African, Asian and Middle Eastern nationals — a UK visa does not admit you to Ireland except under the limited British-Irish Visa Scheme.

Dublin Airport (DUB) is the main hub with US pre-clearance for onward US flights. Cork (ORK) and Shannon (SNN) handle transatlantic and European routes; Shannon also offers US pre-clearance. Knock (NOC) serves the west.
