Curacao — Transport & Getting Around

Public transport is thin: large BC buses run limited schedules from Punda and Otrobanda terminals, supplemented by small private vans, but neither serves the beach coves or nightlife reliably after dark. There is no Uber or Bolt. Taxis are unmetered and work off official tariff cards — confirm the fare before departure; airport to Willemstad runs roughly US 5-35 and prices rise 25% late at night. Most visitors rent a car; roads are good, driving is on the right, and beach-hopping the west-coast coves is impractical any other way.

Hato/Curaçao International Airport (CUR) is about 12 km — 20 minutes — northwest of Willemstad. There are no domestic flights (the island is small); short hops connect to Aruba and Bonaire on Divi Divi Air and winAir if you are island-hopping the Dutch Caribbean.
