Bangladesh — Neighborhoods
Dhaka — there is no tourist-facing adult scene, and this entry maps nightlife, not commercial sex. The diplomatic zone (Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara) holds the licensed hotel bars and private members' clubs — alcohol is legally available to foreigners only at licensed venues, passport in hand — and that is essentially the whole of legal nightlife. Bangladesh does have registered brothel villages (Daulatdia and Kandapara are the largest), operating under an affidavit system for Bangladeshi women over 18 recognised by a 2000 High Court ruling, but they serve a domestic market, sit far from any tourist circuit, and a foreigner appearing there attracts immediate police and community attention. Street solicitation is criminalized under the Suppression of Immoral Traffic Act 1933 and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance 1976, same-sex acts are criminal under Penal Code section 377 (1860), and social surveillance is intense. The realistic guidance: treat Bangladesh as a destination without an accessible adult scene and significant legal exposure for anyone who goes looking. Cox's Bazar — domestic beach tourism, no bar scene.
