Buy a policy with full medical evacuation cover — complex cases are routinely evacuated to Bangkok, Singapore or Delhi, and that is the scenario you are insuring against. Private hospitals in Dhaka's Gulshan and Bashundhara areas handle routine care to a reasonable standard; public facilities are overwhelmed. Dengue is a serious seasonal risk in Dhaka; drink bottled water.

STI testing exists at private laboratories in Dhaka and is procedurally discreet, but stigma is high and PEP availability is unreliable — travellers with an exposure concern should treat Bangkok (a short flight) as the practical fallback within the 72-hour window.
