Ukraine — Visa & Airports
Ukraine grants visa-free entry of 90 days per 180 to holders of US, UK, EU/EEA, Canadian, Australian, Japanese and most OECD passports. Martial law has been in force since 24 February 2022 under Presidential Decree 64/2022 and is extended by parliament every 90 days; male Ukrainian citizens aged 18-60 face exit restrictions, but this does not apply to foreign nationals. Passports should be valid six months, and some land crossings ask for proof of onward travel or accommodation.
All civilian airports - Kyiv-Boryspil (KBP), Kyiv-Zhuliany (IEV), Lviv (LWO), Odesa (ODS), Kharkiv (HRK), Dnipro (DNK) - remain closed. The nearest functioning hubs are Rzeszów (RZE) and Kraków (KRK) in Poland, roughly 3 and 8 hours by road or rail from Lviv.
