Most mainstream travel policies (World Nomads, Allianz, AXA, most UK annual plans) exclude Ukraine outright while the FCDO and US State Department maintain "do not travel" advisories; specialist war-risk insurers such as Battleface, High Risk Voyager and Global Rescue write cover including medevac to Poland or Germany. Read the exclusion list - many policies void cover in oblasts under active combat or if you entered after a specific advisory date.

Public STI testing is available at oblast dermatovenerological dispensaries (shkirvendyspanser) in each regional capital; Kyiv's municipal AIDS Centre offers free anonymous HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B/C rapid tests, and Alliance for Public Health (an established Ukrainian NGO) runs mobile outreach. Private clinics such as Dobrobut, Boris and Medicover handle full STI panels for cash.
