Taiwan — Transport & Getting Around

Taipei's MRT is clean, cheap and English-signed (TWD 20–65 per ride), and the EasyCard also works on buses, YouBike and convenience stores. Uber and the local Taiwan Taxi and 55688 apps all run in the main cities; metered street taxis are plentiful and honest.

Taoyuan Airport MRT into Taipei Main Station takes 36 minutes (TWD 150). The Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) runs Taipei–Kaohsiung in about 90 minutes and is the standard way to move between cities; domestic flights mostly serve outlying islands.
