Sweden — Visa & Airports

Sweden is in the Schengen Area: US, UK, Canadian, Australian and NZ passport holders enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180. ETIAS pre-authorisation (approximately EUR 7) becomes mandatory for these nationalities during 2026 — check ec.europa.eu for the live rollout date before travel. Passports must be valid three months beyond departure.

Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) is the main hub, 40 km north of the city, served by SAS, Norwegian and most European carriers. Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT) covers the west coast, and Malmö Airport (MMX) sits south — though many travellers to Malmö fly into Copenhagen Kastrup (CPH) and cross the Öresund bridge by train in about 35 minutes.
