The Serbian dinar (RSD) trades around 117 to the euro. Belgrade is increasingly card-friendly, but the cash economy is large — taxis, splav entry, tips and anything in the adult grey zone run on cash. Exchange offices (menjačnica) beat banks and airport counters on rate; many local ATMs add their own fee to foreign cards, so compare a couple, and always decline dynamic currency conversion. Euros are the informal reference currency for big amounts, but payment is in dinars.

Tipping is around 10% in restaurants, appreciated in cash; round up taxis. Break large notes when you can — small vendors dislike RSD 5,000 notes.
