Standard travel insurance (World Nomads, SafetyWing, Allianz) covers Portugal without special riders; EU/UK visitors with EHIC or GHIC cards get access to public SNS care at resident rates. Private clinics — CUF, Lusíadas, Hospital da Luz — offer faster English-language consultations for EUR 80–150 and are the practical option for tourists.

For STI testing and sexual-health services, CheckpointLX in Lisbon (Travessa do Monte do Carmo) provides free, anonymous HIV/syphilis/hepatitis screening and PEP referrals; GAT Porto runs a similar service. SNS sexual-health consultations are available through Centros de Saúde but require an SNS number or upfront payment. Pharmacies (farmácias, green cross) sell emergency contraception and PrEP is available on the SNS for residents.
