Poland — Visa & Airports

Poland is in the Schengen Area, so US, UK, Canadian, Australian and NZ passport holders enter visa-free for 90 days in any 180-day period; ETIAS pre-authorisation (EUR 20) is expected to become mandatory during 2026 — check europa.eu before flying. Passports must be valid for three months beyond the intended departure. Overstays trigger Schengen-wide bans. There is no departure tax.

Main international gateways are Warsaw Chopin (WAW, the LOT hub), Krakow-Balice (KRK), Gdansk Lech Walesa (GDN), Wroclaw (WRO), Katowice (KTW) and the Ryanair-heavy Warsaw Modlin (WMI). LOT, Wizz Air and Ryanair carry most traffic; direct long-haul from Chicago, New York, Newark, Toronto and Seoul lands at WAW.
