Pakistan — Transport & Getting Around

Domestic flights are the practical way to cross Pakistan, with PIA, Airblue and SereneAir connecting Karachi (KHI), Lahore (LHE) and Islamabad (ISB). Pakistan Railways links the major cities cheaply along the Karachi–Lahore–Rawalpindi spine, slow but scenic. In town, use app-based transport — Careem, InDrive and Yango for cars, Bykea for motorbike rides — which give you a fixed fare, a route and a record, safer than flagging rickshaws. Road travel into Balochistan, the KP border belt and some interior districts may require a No Objection Certificate and police escort; do not improvise into restricted areas, and expect routine checkpoints throughout.
