Morocco — Insurance

Buy travel insurance that covers medical evacuation — public hospitals are cheap but overwhelmed and mainly Arabic/French-speaking; foreigners are steered to private clinics that expect upfront payment or a guarantee-of-payment letter from your insurer. Well-regarded private facilities include Clinique du Littoral and Polyclinique Anfa in Casablanca, and the Polyclinique du Sud in Marrakech.

STI testing (HIV, syphilis, hepatitis, chlamydia/gonorrhoea) is available same-day at private clinics for roughly MAD 400–1,200 depending on the panel; results are usually 24–48 hours. Pharmacies are well-stocked and pharmacists speak French; condoms and emergency contraception are sold over the counter. PEP is available at major public hospitals but access can be slow — a private clinic is faster within the 72-hour window.
