Malta — Visa & Airports

Malta is in Schengen: 90 days visa-free per 180 for US, UK, Canadian, Australian and NZ passports, shared with the rest of the Schengen zone. EES biometric checks have been phasing in since October 2025, with ETIAS to follow for visa-exempt travellers. MLA is small and can queue badly at peak summer departures; arrive early in July–August. English is an official language, which simplifies every official interaction on the island.
