Latvia — Visa & Airports

Latvia is in the EU and Schengen. US, UK, Canadian, Australian and NZ passport holders get 90 days visa-free in any 180-day period across the whole Schengen area; the EU Entry/Exit System now records biometrics at first entry, and the ETIAS pre-travel authorisation is expected to follow — check its status before flying. Passports should be valid three months beyond your planned departure.

Riga International Airport (RIX) is the main Baltic hub and home base of airBaltic, with direct connections across Europe and to the Gulf. It is compact — 30-40 minutes is enough for departure formalities outside summer peaks.
