Riga — almost the entire tourist-facing adult scene sits in and around Vecrīga (Old Town), which doubles as stag-party central. Strip clubs and gentlemen's clubs cluster on and off Kaļķu iela and the surrounding lanes, and this is also where the city's best-documented scam operates: clubs (and friendly English-speaking women who steer you to a bar of their choosing) presenting bills of hundreds or thousands of euros, enforced by door staff. The UK Foreign Office has warned about Riga bar and club overcharging for years — confirm prices in writing before ordering anything. The independent scene is mostly apartment-based providers advertising on Latvian and international listing sites, concentrated in the Centre district rather than the Old Town itself.

Sex work is legal for the individual worker in Latvia, governed by the 2008 Cabinet of Ministers Prostitution Restriction Regulations, but brothels and any third-party organisation are crimes under the Criminal Law — anything marketed as a club with rooms is operating outside the law. Jūrmala has summer resort nightlife but no distinct adult district.
