Jordan — Visa & Airports

Visa on arrival at AMM costs JOD 40 for most Western nationalities. If you're staying at least three nights and visiting Petra, buy the Jordan Pass online before arrival (from around JOD 70) — it waives the visa fee and bundles major site entry, paying for itself immediately. Arrival via Aqaba's special economic zone is visa-exempt for most of the same passports. Note that visas are not issued at the King Hussein/Allenby Bridge land crossing from the West Bank — arrange status beforehand if routing that way.
