Tokyo subway/JR network the most extensive in the world. JR Pass for tourists (book before arrival). IC card (Suica/Pasmo) for daily use. Taxis expensive but reliable; Uber Black only.

Narita/Haneda for Tokyo; Kansai (KIX) for Osaka. Shinkansen for intercity — Tokyo to Osaka 2.5 hours.
