Jamaica — Transport & Getting Around
Knutsford Express is the reliable intercity option — comfortable scheduled coaches linking Kingston, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Negril for modest fares. Route taxis (red licence plates, shared, fixed routes) are the local standard and very cheap; JUTA and other chartered tourist taxis charge fixed board rates, so confirm the price before setting off. Uber operates in Kingston and Montego Bay. Sangster (MBJ) in Montego Bay is the tourist gateway — Negril is about 90 minutes by road via coach or a prebooked transfer — while Norman Manley (KIN) serves Kingston at the other end of the island; the MBJ–Kingston drive runs 3+ hours.
