Standard travel insurance (SafetyWing, World Nomads, IMG, Allianz) is advisable; UK residents should carry a GHIC and EU/EEA citizens their EHIC for reciprocal public-hospital cover, but private care and repatriation still need a policy. Ferry cancellations and island medevac are the most common claims, so confirm the policy covers domestic flights and boat travel.

For sexual-health care, the Andreas Syngros Hospital in Athens (Ilisia) is the national reference centre for STIs and dermatology and runs walk-in clinics; Ippokrateio and AHEPA in Thessaloniki cover the north. Private options include HHG and Metropolitan Hospital. Emergency PEP is available through hospital A&E within 72 hours of exposure.
