Fiji — Currency & Money

The Fijian dollar (FJD) is the currency. Cards are accepted at resorts, Denarau and larger town businesses, but 2–3% card surcharges are common; taxis, markets, village stores and most of the outer islands are cash-only, and the Yasawas have no ATMs — carry what you need before boarding the catamaran. ATMs are plentiful in Nadi, Suva, Lautoka and Denarau. Tipping is not customary; resorts operate communal staff funds ('Christmas funds') instead of individual tips.
