Cuba — Visa & Airports
Everyone needs a Cuban tourist visa, now issued electronically (the e-visa replaced the paper tourist card in 2025); airlines and agencies sell it alongside the ticket. Two warnings dwarf the paperwork: US citizens cannot legally visit as 'tourists' under the US embargo — travel must fit an OFAC category such as Support for the Cuban People — and for everyone else, any trip to Cuba since 12 January 2021 ends your eligibility for the US ESTA/visa-waiver programme, meaning you will need a full US visa for future American trips. Havana's José Martí (HAV) is the main gateway; Varadero (VRA) takes package charters.
