Cuba — Neighborhoods

Cuba has no legal adult-entertainment scene to map. The state polices contact between tourists and Cubans hard: selling sex is suppressed through administrative measures and police action even where it is not a direct criminal-code offence for adults, third parties face long sentences under the 2022 Penal Code (Law 151/2022), and it is usually the Cuban partner — not the tourist — who pays the price, through warning letters, detention, or forced return to their home province. Hotels and registered casas particulares must log every guest with immigration, so bringing a Cuban national to your room creates a paper trail.

The regular nightlife is worthwhile on its own terms: Havana centres on Old Havana's Obispo strip, Vedado's La Rampa/Calle 23 and the Malecón seafront, with bigger clubs out in Playa/Miramar; Varadero is a resort strip; Santiago de Cuba has the strongest live-music scene. Expect persistent hustling ('jineterismo') around tourist zones, and understand that anything involving a minor carries decades in a Cuban prison.
