Cuba — Insurance

Travel medical insurance is mandatory for entry, and US-issued policies are not accepted — carry printed proof of a qualifying policy, and anyone arriving uncovered must buy a local Asistur policy at the airport. The deeper issue is supply: Cuban pharmacies are chronically bare, so bring every medication you might need, plus condoms, painkillers, rehydration salts, and a basic first-aid kit; do not count on buying PEP or antibiotics locally. Serious cases go to the hard-currency international clinics in Havana, and evacuation cover is worth having.
