Sofia — mainstream nightlife centres on Vitosha Boulevard and the streets around it, with strip clubs and so-called night clubs scattered nearby; the practical adult scene is mostly apartment-based providers advertising on Bulgarian listing sites in the central districts. Sunny Beach is the stag-party capital of the Balkans — strip clubs and aggressive street promoters line the main strip, and this is where overcharging, drink-spiking and card-cloning complaints concentrate. Varna and Golden Sands run a smaller version of the same summer scene.

Selling sex is not itself criminalised for adults in Bulgaria, but it is completely unregulated: brothel-keeping, procuring and pimping are crimes under Article 155 of the 1968 Penal Code, and street workers are periodically sanctioned under municipal ordinances. The street and highway scene (notably along the ring roads and the E79) is heavily trafficking-linked and should be avoided entirely. Bulgaria's age of consent is 14, but that has no bearing on commercial sex — paying anyone under 18 is a serious felony, and 18 is the hard line.
