Sex work by registered adults is legal in Bolivia: workers carry health cards tied to mandatory checkups at public clinics and work in licensed venues, while pimping and exploitation of others' prostitution are criminal under the Penal Code. The licensed scene is concentrated in designated venues rather than street districts. Santa Cruz de la Sierra — the country's largest and most liberal nightlife economy; Equipetrol is the main strip of clubs and lounges, with the adult scene operating around and beyond it. La Paz — Sopocachi is the bar-and-club district, with upscale lounges in the Zona Sur (San Miguel); the licensed adult venues cluster in less central zones. Cochabamba — a mid-sized scene along the El Prado corridor.

The age of consent is 14, but commercial sex with anyone under 18 is a serious crime with client liability — the registration system exists precisely to draw that line, and unlicensed venues are where underage and trafficking risk concentrates. Stick to the licensed sector or avoid entirely.
