Bahrain — Visa & Airports

Most Western passports (US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia) qualify for visa on arrival or an eVisa via the official evisa.gov.bh portal — the standard on-arrival option is a short-stay visa for around BHD 5, with longer multi-entry eVisas available online. Processing on arrival is quick. BAH's terminal (opened 2021) is modern and efficient, with ATMs, SIM counters and taxi ranks landside.

Bahrain is the most socially permissive Gulf state — alcohol is legal in licensed venues — but it is still a Gulf monarchy: drug offences carry severe penalties and airport screening is thorough.
