Bahrain — Insurance
A standard travel policy suffices — Bahrain's private hospitals in Manama are good and visitors pay upfront, so carry proof of cover. Read the alcohol clause: most insurers can deny claims for injuries sustained while intoxicated, which matters in a destination where the nightlife is the draw.
STI testing is available at private clinics and laboratories in Manama on a confidential (not anonymous) basis. Note that Bahrain, like other Gulf states, screens foreign workers for HIV and deports those who test positive — this does not apply to tourists, but it shapes the local testing culture, so short-stay visitors who want discretion often test after returning home. Carry condoms; pharmacy access is unrestricted.
