Austria — Visa & Airports

Austria is in the Schengen Area and the EU. US, UK, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand passport holders enter visa-free for 90 days in any 180-day period across the whole Schengen zone; ETIAS pre-authorisation is being phased in for these nationalities and should be checked before booking. Longer stays require a national D visa or residence permit.

Vienna International (VIE, Schwechat) is the main hub, 18 km southeast of the city and served by CAT, S-Bahn and taxis. Regional airports include Salzburg (SZG), Innsbruck (INN), Graz (GRZ) and Linz (LNZ) — mostly used for low-cost European connections and winter charter traffic.
