Guide
Escrow & Payment Intermediaries
Mainstream payment processors prohibit adult services. This guide covers what actually works — across borders, across legal regimes, with chargeback resistance.
Why Mainstream Processors Don\'t Work
Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Stripe, Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle all prohibit adult services in their Acceptable Use Policies. Detection happens through pattern analysis (high tip rate, repeat-customer patterns, MCC code violations) and tip-offs. Account closure is sudden, with funds frozen for 90–180 days, then sometimes returned, sometimes seized. This is the core operational reality post-FOSTA-SESTA (US) and analogous European AUP enforcement.
Crypto in Practice
Bitcoin remains the default for cross-border adult payments. Stablecoins (USDC, USDT) reduce volatility risk. Workflow:
- Set up a wallet you control (BlueWallet, Phoenix, Muun for BTC; MetaMask or Trust Wallet for stablecoins).
- Generate a fresh receive address per client to prevent address clustering.
- Off-ramp to fiat through an exchange that accepts your KYC (Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp depending on country); this is where the legal-name link is created.
- For income reporting: convert at receipt into your accounting currency and record. Tax authorities increasingly require crypto income reporting.
Bank Wires
Domestic and international wires to a DBA business account work for retainer-style or longer-engagement bookings. Less suited to one-off cash-equivalent transactions. Best for:
- Retainer agreements ("companion services", "consulting", "personal coaching")
- Multi-day or extended bookings
- Travel deposits where the provider is also covering logistics
Use neutral business descriptors. Don\'t use the work name on the wire details.
Country-Specific Notes
- Argentina, Lebanon, Venezuela, Turkey: currency-collapse contexts where cash USD or stablecoins are dominant. Local-currency wires are nearly worthless.
- Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland: bank wires under DBA work cleanly. Card terminals at higher-end venues.
- Thailand, Philippines: cash dominant. Some agency-style services accept Wise transfers via legal-entity intermediaries.
- UAE, China, Russia: all crypto on-ramps blocked or heavily KYC\'d. Stick to cash; never carry crypto records on travel devices.
