Did you feel safe using taxis?

Guatemala trip report — 5 days

Arrived and got settled quickly. Taxi from airport was easy. Hotel was clean and central.

Days 1-2: Explored, got the lay of the land. Prices seemed fair.

Days 3-7: Had some incredible sessions. Found my rhythm. The nightlife district area was the sweet spot.

Prices: $30-60 range. Better deals during the week.

Tips: Get a local SIM on arrival.

Return? Definitely, now in my regular rotation.

Thanks for posting this. The forum has been quiet on Guatemala lately so this is welcome intel.

Been there 15+ times now. Still one of my top destinations. The friendly atmosphere is what keeps me coming back.

This matches my experience. Guatemala is better than its reputation.

Spot on with the prices. Matches what I paid recently.

Can anyone comment on the current safety level? Planning to go next month.

Not sure I agree about that area. Found the outskirts better value.

Also recommend downloading Grab before you go. Essential.
