A standard travel policy is sufficient — private hospital chains in Colombo provide good, inexpensive care and are the default for foreigners; outside Colombo, facilities thin out fast and serious cases get moved to the capital. Dengue is the main seasonal health risk.

The government's National STD/AIDS Control Programme runs free STI clinics, with the central clinic in Colombo; private hospitals offer faster, discreet testing for a fee. PEP is obtainable in Colombo but scarce elsewhere, so act within the 72-hour window while still in the capital if needed.
