Auckland — Karangahape Road ("K Road"), running above the CBD, is the historic red-light and LGBTQ+ strip with licensed brothels, strip clubs and bars operating openly under the Prostitution Reform Act 2003. The CBD around Fort Street has additional adult venues. Wellington — Vivian Street and the surrounding Te Aro blocks host most licensed premises and independent workers' apartments. Christchurch — Manchester Street and the neighbouring central grid concentrate adult businesses. Queenstown — no dedicated district; a handful of licensed venues serve the tourist trade.
