US, UK, EU, Canadian, Australian and NZ passports enter visa-free for up to 30 days per visit (capped at 90 days total in any 180). No registration action is needed by the traveller — hotels file the migration notification automatically; a private host must do it within about 3 working days. Almaty (ALA) opened a new international terminal in 2024 and is the main gateway; Astana's Nursultan Nazarbayev International (NQZ) is the other hub. Keep the small immigration slip if issued, and make sure you get an entry stamp.
