Denmark — Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is standard advice; EU/EEA visitors are covered via EHIC/GHIC for state hospital treatment, while non-EU visitors pay out of pocket and reclaim. Denmark's public hospitals are high quality; in the Capital Region, non-emergency care is routed through the 1813 medical helpline before arrival, with 112 for emergencies.

For sexual health, Copenhagen's Bispebjerg Hospital runs a walk-in venereology clinic offering STI testing, and AIDS-Fondet operates the Checkpoint clinic in Vesterbro with anonymous, low-barrier HIV and STI screening. Sex & Samfund (Danish Family Planning) publishes English-language sexual health guidance. Condoms and emergency contraception (nødprævention) are sold over the counter in pharmacies (apotek).
