Dominican Republic trip report — 5 days

Arrived and got settled quickly. Train from the airport was simple. Hotel was surprisingly nice for the price.

Days 1-2: Explored, got the lay of the land. Took a day to figure things out.

Days 3-7: Quality improved once I knew where to look. Found my rhythm. The main strip area was the sweet spot.

Prices: $100-200 for premium. Better deals during the week.

Tips: Get a local SIM on arrival.

Return? 100% — saving up already.

Thanks for posting this. The forum has been quiet on Dominican Republic lately so this is welcome intel.

Adding my experience: scene has improved since pre-COVID. Biggest change: better quality.

How long to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Not sure I agree about that area. Found the outskirts better value.
