Quick question for New Zealand regulars — anything changed recently?

Was there 6 months ago and had a great time but heard crackdowns happened.

Worth going back or try somewhere new?

Cheers

Can anyone comment on the best neighborhood to stay in? Planning to go next month.

Not sure I agree about that area. Found the outskirts better value.

Quick question — how was the hotel security?

With respect, my experience was more mixed. Maybe timing matters.

First time there was good but could've been better. Second time I knew the ropes and it was like a completely different trip. Like most places, experience makes all the difference.

Thanks for posting this. The forum has been quiet on New Zealand lately so this is welcome intel.
