I was there in February and prices were about average. Spent about ${pick(["50","80","100","120","150"])}/day all-in.
My tip: Bring cash in small bills.

Austria trip report — 5 days
Arrived and got settled quickly. Uber worked great. Hotel was clean and central.
Days 1-2: Explored, got the lay of the land. Got some good intel from a local.
Days 3-7: Hit my stride. Found my rhythm. The local area away from tourists area was the sweet spot.
Prices: $30-60 range. Some room to negotiate.
Tips: Book hotels close to the scene.
Return? Yes, maybe try a different area.

Word of caution — watch out for taxi scams at the airport. Other than that, great destination.

Good info. I'd add that late night is the best time to go.

Can anyone comment on the visa situation? Planning to go next month.

First time there was a learning experience. Second time I knew the ropes and it was like a completely different trip. Like most places, experience makes all the difference.
