Pattaya Complete Adult Guide 2026: Every Area, Bar & Price

Everything you need to know about Pattaya's adult scene — Walking Street go-go bars, the Soi 6 short-time system, LK Metro beer bars, Beach Road freelancers, soapy massage, Soi Honey, Tree Town, Jomtien, transport, and hotel recommendations.

Why Pattaya Is Different from Bangkok

Pattaya is a purpose-built adult entertainment city. While Bangkok has nightlife districts embedded in a massive metropolis, Pattaya's entire economy revolves around tourism and adult entertainment. The result: everything is cheaper, more concentrated, more openly transactional, and more intense than Bangkok. The sheer density of bars, freelancers, and massage shops per square kilometer is unmatched anywhere in Thailand.

The flip side is that Pattaya lacks Bangkok's variety, sophistication, and escape options. It's a beach town with mediocre beaches, and the crowd skews older and more hardcore than Bangkok's. But for pure adult entertainment density and value, nothing in Southeast Asia comes close.

Walking Street: Bar-by-Bar Highlights

Walking Street is Pattaya's main attraction — a long pedestrianized road running from the junction at Beach Road down to the Bali Hai pier. It's closed to traffic from 6pm and lined with go-go bars, nightclubs, beer bars, restaurants, and street food vendors. The go-go bars are concentrated on the main strip and in several smaller sois branching off it.

Top Go-Go Bars

  • Windmill: Pattaya's most famous go-go bar and arguably the best. Large venue with multiple stages, 50-80 dancers on peak nights. Consistently the biggest and best-looking lineup on Walking Street. Higher prices but worth it.
  • Sapphire Club: A close second to Windmill. Great lineup, fun stage shows, and a more intimate atmosphere despite its size. Popular with regulars.
  • Airport Club: Aviation-themed go-go bar. Known for playful stage shows and a relaxed, less aggressive atmosphere. Good for first-timers.
  • Pin-Up Bar: Smaller venue with a curated lineup. Fewer girls but consistently attractive. Higher bar fines reflect this.
  • XS Club: An institution on Walking Street. Large and lively, with a party atmosphere. The lineup is hit-or-miss but the energy is always high.
  • Baccara: Solid, reliable go-go bar. Not the flashiest but consistently decent lineup and reasonable pricing.

Walking Street Pricing

  • Beers: ฿100-180
  • Lady drinks: ฿150-250
  • Bar fines: ฿500-1,000 (฿1,500-2,500 for premium bars)
  • Short-time: ฿1,500-3,000 (on top of bar fine)
  • Long-time: ฿3,000-5,000 (on top of bar fine)

Walking Street Beer Bars

Between the go-go bars, dozens of open-air beer bars line both sides of the street. These are more relaxed — cheaper drinks (฿80-120), lower bar fines (฿300-500), and less polished than the go-go bars. Good for a casual drink and conversation. The girls in beer bars tend to be older on average but friendlier and less jaded.

Soi 6: How It Works

Soi 6 is one of Pattaya's most unique adult entertainment streets. It runs between Second Road and Beach Road in the north end of town, and it operates on a short-time bar system that's unlike anywhere else in Thailand.

The System

  1. Walk into any bar on Soi 6 (there are 40-50 of them, both sides of the street)
  2. Buy a drink (฿80-150). Chat with the girls.
  3. If you're interested in a girl, negotiate directly with her. The "bar fine" and her fee are bundled into one price, typically ฿1,000-1,500 for short-time.
  4. You go upstairs — every bar on Soi 6 has rooms above the bar. Short-time happens right there.
  5. The whole process takes 30-45 minutes. Then you're back at the bar or walking to the next one.

Soi 6 Pricing

  • All-in short-time price: ฿1,000-1,500 (includes room and girl)
  • Premium girls: ฿1,500-2,000
  • Beers: ฿80-120
  • Lady drinks: ฿150-200

Soi 6 is the most cost-effective option in Pattaya for straightforward short-time encounters. The bars are open from around noon (some earlier) until 2am, making it a daytime option too. The quality of girls varies hugely bar-to-bar — walk the entire street before committing.

Tip: Soi 6 is a daytime destination too. Many bars open by 11am-12pm, and the afternoon crowd is lighter with less competition. Some visitors prefer the more relaxed daytime atmosphere.

Walking Street Side Sois

Walking Street has several small sois branching off the main strip, each with their own character:

  • Soi Diamond: A small alley with a cluster of go-go bars and beer bars. Less crowded than the main strip, with some hidden gems. Good for a quieter drink.
  • Soi Sea Dragon: Home to several go-go bars and short-time rooms. More compact and intense than the main walking street.
  • Soi Happy / Marine Disco area: At the far end of Walking Street near the pier. Marine Disco was once Pattaya's biggest nightclub — the venue has changed but the area remains active late-night.
  • Soi 15 (off Walking Street entrance): A short-time hotel soi — several hotels catering to bar fine customers with rates of ฿300-600 per use.

LK Metro

LK Metro is a small square of beer bars and a few go-go bars located off Soi Diana, between Second Road and Soi Buakhao. It's compact, friendly, and popular with expats and repeat visitors who want a more low-key experience than Walking Street.

  • Beers: ฿70-100
  • Lady drinks: ฿120-180
  • Bar fines: ฿300-500
  • Short-time: ฿1,000-2,000 (on top of bar fine)

LK Metro is where Pattaya regulars often end up. The prices are lower, the girls are friendlier, and the atmosphere is more local. The go-go bars are small but some — like Champagne — have surprisingly good lineups.

Beach Road Freelancers

Beach Road runs along Pattaya's seafront from North Pattaya down to Walking Street. After dark (from about 8pm), it transforms into Pattaya's main freelancer strip. Hundreds of women walk the stretch between Soi 6 and Walking Street, looking for customers.

  • Typical rates: ฿1,000-2,000 ST; ฿1,500-3,000 LT
  • Peak hours: 10pm-2am
  • Hotspots: Near Soi 8, between Soi 10-13, the section near Walking Street entrance

Beach Road freelancers are the cheapest option in Pattaya. The quality varies enormously — from very attractive women to those who've been on the scene a long time. Take your time, walk the strip, and don't commit early. The later you go, the more negotiable the prices become.

Second Road & Soi Buakhao

Second Road runs parallel to Beach Road, one block inland. Soi Buakhao is a bustling street connecting Second Road to Third Road, lined with beer bars, restaurants, and small go-go bars. This area is the heart of "local Pattaya" — where long-stay expats and budget-conscious visitors hang out.

  • Beer bar drinks: ฿60-90
  • Bar fines: ฿300-500
  • Short-time rates: ฿1,000-1,500

The Soi Buakhao area has dozens of small, open-air beer bar complexes — Soi Made in Thailand, Soi Chaiyapoon, and others. These are unpretentious spots where the prices are rock-bottom and the atmosphere is genuinely relaxed.

Tree Town & Soi Honey

Tree Town

Tree Town is a small beer bar complex on Soi Buakhao near the Soi Diana intersection. It's a cluster of about 15-20 bars around a central courtyard. Very local, very cheap, and popular with expats. Bar fines ฿300, drinks ฿60-80. A good starting point for an evening before heading to Walking Street.

Soi Honey

Soi Honey (also called Soi Honey Inn) is a short street off Second Road near Soi 11. It has a mix of beer bars and freelancer bars. Less well-known than the main areas, which keeps prices low and competition minimal. Similar pricing to Soi Buakhao but with a slightly different, more intimate vibe.

Soapy Massage in Pattaya

Pattaya has several soapy massage parlors operating on the same model as Bangkok — fishbowl selection, private rooms with bathtubs and air mattresses, full service included. The main ones are located along Second Road and North Pattaya Road.

  • Fishbowl girls: ฿1,500-2,000
  • Sideline girls: ฿2,500-4,000
  • Key venues: Honey 2 (North Pattaya), Sabai Room, Soapy Land
  • Tip: ฿300-500 expected

Pattaya soapies are generally cheaper than Bangkok's but with a smaller selection. They cater primarily to Asian customers (Thai, Chinese, Korean) — Western visitors are welcome but may find the experience less polished than Bangkok's top establishments.

Jomtien vs Pattaya

Jomtien is a beach area about 3km south of Walking Street. It's quieter, cleaner, and more residential than central Pattaya.

  • Jomtien Complex: A small beer bar area on Jomtien Soi 6 that serves as the area's social hub. Cheap drinks, friendly bars, predominantly older crowd.
  • Jomtien Beach: A much better beach than Pattaya Beach. Good for daytime recovery.
  • Nightlife: Minimal. Jomtien has a handful of bars but nothing approaching the scale of central Pattaya. Plan to commute into Pattaya proper for serious nightlife.
  • Accommodation: Cheaper than central Pattaya. A good choice if you prefer a quieter base and don't mind a 10-minute baht bus ride to Walking Street.
  • Gay scene: Jomtien has a significant gay community, centered around Soi 3 (Dongtan area) and the Jomtien Complex.

Baht Bus Transport

Pattaya's main public transport is the baht bus (songthaew) — a converted pickup truck with benches. Blue baht buses run fixed routes along Beach Road and Second Road for ฿10 per trip. Just hop on, press the buzzer when you want to stop, and pay the driver as you exit.

  • Beach Road route: Runs south (Naklua to Walking Street)
  • Second Road route: Runs north (Walking Street to Naklua)
  • Fare: ฿10 for the fixed route
  • Charter: ฿100-200 to specific destinations (negotiate before boarding)
  • Night rates: After midnight, drivers may charge ฿20-50 on the fixed route

For trips to Jomtien, take a baht bus from Walking Street (฿10-20). For trips to the airport or Bangkok, use Grab or book a minivan from a travel agent on Second Road.

Baht bus scam: If a baht bus is empty and the driver calls out to you, he's trying to charter (not run the route). He'll drive you around and demand ฿200-500. Only board baht buses that already have passengers to ensure you're on the fixed ฿10 route.

Hotel Recommendations

Walking Street Area

  • Budget (฿500-1,000): Guesthouses on Soi 13-15 — walkable to Walking Street, basic but functional
  • Mid-range (฿1,200-2,500): Hotels on Beach Road between Soi 10-13 — good location, most are guest-friendly
  • Upscale (฿3,000-6,000): Hilton Pattaya (directly above Central Festival mall) — best location in the city

Soi Buakhao Area

  • Budget (฿400-800): Guesthouses and small hotels along Soi Buakhao — cheapest area, surrounded by bars
  • Mid-range (฿1,000-2,000): Hotels near the LK Metro junction — central for both Walking Street and Soi 6

Guest-Friendly Policy

Pattaya is extremely guest-friendly as a city. Nearly all hotels except the most expensive international chains allow overnight guests without issue. Some budget places charge a joiner fee of ฿200-300. Always confirm when booking, but you'll rarely have problems — this is Pattaya, after all.

Online Scene & Apps

Pattaya has a thriving online dating and freelancer scene that operates in parallel with the bars. Many experienced visitors use apps as their primary tool, meeting women online and skipping the bar scene entirely.

  • Thai Friendly: The go-to platform for Pattaya. Thousands of active profiles from women in and around the city. Many are semi-professional freelancers; others are bar girls on their days off. Premium membership (฿900/month) is worth it for unlimited messaging. Start messaging 1-2 weeks before arrival.
  • Tinder: Active in Pattaya with a mix of freelancers, regular women, and tourists. Swipe culture applies. Less reliable than Thai Friendly for Pattaya-specific encounters.
  • Line app: Essential for communication. Every Thai woman you meet — online or in person — will want to exchange Line IDs. Download it before your trip and set up a profile.

Online rates tend to be lower than bar encounters because there's no bar fine component. Expect ฿1,000-2,500 for short-time with women met through apps. The convenience factor is significant — you can arrange meetings before arriving and have dates lined up for your first evening.

Ladyboy Scene

Pattaya has one of the largest and most visible ladyboy scenes in Thailand. Ladyboys (kathoey) are present across all areas of Pattaya's nightlife:

  • Walking Street: Several dedicated ladyboy go-go bars, plus ladyboy freelancers along the street
  • Soi 6: Some bars have mixed or ladyboy-only lineups — ask before committing
  • Beach Road: Ladyboy freelancers are very visible after dark, particularly near Soi 8-10
  • LK Metro: A few ladyboy-oriented bars in the complex
  • Soi Buakhao: Ladyboy freelancers and some dedicated bars
  • Online: Thai Friendly has a large ladyboy section with many Pattaya-based profiles

Pricing for ladyboy encounters is generally similar to or slightly below female encounters. Freelancer ladyboys on Beach Road may negotiate lower (฿800-1,500 ST). Be aware that some Beach Road ladyboy groups have a reputation for pickpocketing — keep valuables in front pockets and be cautious with physical contact from strangers.

Massage Scene

Pattaya is saturated with massage shops — from legitimate Thai massage to full-service adult establishments. Here's how to navigate the spectrum:

Legitimate Thai Massage

Hundreds of small shops along every soi. Prices: ฿200-300 for a one-hour Thai massage, ฿300-400 for oil massage. Most are strictly professional. Look for shops with proper signage and multiple masseuses visible inside.

Happy Ending Massage

Many oil massage shops offer a happy ending (hand finish) for a tip of ฿500-1,000. This is not guaranteed — read the vibe, and don't pressure if the masseuse seems unwilling. The shops along Soi Buakhao and Second Road are more likely to offer extras than those in tourist areas.

Full-Service Massage Shops

Dedicated adult massage establishments that offer full-service (including intercourse) in addition to the massage. Found along Second Road, Soi Diana area, and some side streets. Prices: ฿1,500-3,000 for a 90-minute session with full service. Some have glass-fronted lobbies where you can choose your masseuse.

Safety & Scams

Pattaya is generally safe for tourists, but awareness is important:

  • Jet ski scam: The most notorious Pattaya scam. Tourists rent jet skis on the beach, return them, and are accused of "damage" with demands for ฿20,000-50,000 in "repairs." Never rent a jet ski from beach vendors.
  • Room theft: Long-time girls may lift valuables while you sleep. Use the room safe for passport, cash, and electronics. This is the most common crime affecting adult tourists.
  • Drink spiking: Rare in established bars but possible with freelancers. Never leave your drink unattended, especially in late-night venues.
  • Lady drink hustling: Some go-go bar girls order rapid-fire lady drinks to inflate your bill. Set a limit early or tell the waitress to check with you before each drink.
  • Motorbike rental: If you rent a motorbike, take photos of all existing damage before leaving. Rental shops may try to charge you for pre-existing scratches.
  • ATM fees: Thai ATMs charge ฿220 per foreign card withdrawal. Withdraw larger amounts (฿10,000-20,000) to minimize per-transaction costs.
Legal note: Thai law enforcement periodically conducts ID checks in nightlife areas. Always carry your passport (or a photocopy) when going out. Being unable to produce ID can result in a trip to the police station and a fine.

First Night Itinerary

For your first night in Pattaya, here's a recommended plan:

  • 6:00pm: Walk Soi 6 from Second Road to Beach Road. Get a drink at a bar, observe the scene, and understand the system.
  • 7:30pm: Take a baht bus down Beach Road to the Walking Street entrance. Walk the entire length to the pier and back.
  • 8:30pm: Enter a go-go bar (Windmill or Sapphire for the full experience). Have 2-3 drinks, watch the show.
  • 10:30pm: Walk to LK Metro for a more relaxed beer bar experience.
  • 12:00am: If you're still out, walk Beach Road to see the freelancer scene in full swing.

Pricing Summary

  • Walking Street go-go (bar fine + ST): ฿2,000-4,000 total
  • Walking Street go-go (bar fine + LT): ฿3,500-6,000 total
  • Soi 6 short-time: ฿1,000-1,500 all-in
  • LK Metro/Soi Buakhao (bar fine + ST): ฿1,300-2,500 total

Best Time to Visit Pattaya

  • High season (November-February): Best weather, most tourists, maximum girls in the bars. Hotels book up — reserve in advance.
  • Low season (June-October): Rainy season but rain is usually brief afternoon showers. Fewer tourists, lower hotel prices, and more negotiating power. Many experienced visitors prefer this period.
  • Songkran (mid-April): Thai New Year water fight. Walking Street becomes a massive water battle. Some bars close, others embrace the chaos. A unique experience if you time it right.

Getting to Pattaya

Pattaya is approximately 150km southeast of Bangkok:

  • From Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK): Airport bus (฿130, 2 hours, runs every 2 hours from level 1 gate 8). Private taxi (฿1,200-1,500, 90 minutes). Grab from the airport works but may be more expensive.
  • From Bangkok (Ekkamai bus terminal): Air-conditioned buses run every 30 minutes, ฿130, 2-2.5 hours.
  • From U-Tapao Airport (UTP): Some airlines fly directly to U-Tapao, which is only 30 minutes from Pattaya. A growing option that skips Bangkok entirely.
